Love is patient
Who in your life has shown you patient love?
“Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,”
Introduction
The church in Corinth was gifted, but divided. Paul wrote this famous chapter not for a wedding, but to a quarrelling church that needed to learn how to love each other.
His description of love is practical. It’s less about how we feel and more about how we treat the people in front of us.
Questions
Read 1 Corinthians 13:1–7. Which description of love stands out to you, and why?
Why do you think Paul starts with patience and kindness?
Where is it hardest for you to be patient: at home, at work, or at church?
How has God shown this kind of love to you?
Conclusion
We love because God first loved us. His patience with us is the source of our patience with others.
