Strength in every season
Where do you turn when you feel weak?
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Introduction
Paul wrote these words from prison, not from a place of comfort. He had known plenty and he had known hunger, and he had learned to be content in both.
This week we look at where Paul’s strength came from, and what it means to lean on Christ when our own strength runs out.
Questions
Read Philippians 4:10–13. What had Paul learned, and how did he learn it?
When have you felt most self-sufficient? When have you felt most weak?
What is the difference between “I can do all things” and “I can do anything I want”?
What would it look like to lean on Christ’s strength this week?
Conclusion
Paul’s contentment didn’t depend on his circumstances. It rested on Christ, who stays the same in every season.
Homework
Each morning this week, pray the memory verse aloud and write down one situation where you need His strength.
